Stevens Point Fire Station No. 2
Demonstrating the Benefits of Sustainable Design
City officials indicated a desire to
reuse and expand the satellite fire station instead of
razing it because of its excellent location for serving the
growing community of Steven Point. The renovation presented
an opportunity to introduce the sustainable technology of
solar water heating.
Our architects worked closely with Focus on Energy to design
an energy efficient exterior building envelope for both the
new and existing building areas. High performance triple
glazed windows, “solar tube” skylights and high efficiency
lighting were installed to reduce the buildings impact on
the environment. |
