Merrill Airport is positioned for take off! The airport recently completed a master plan and environmental assessment for long term development at the airport.  

The proposed future development features a parallel taxiway for the primary runway and development of a new terminal area. The new terminal area will be located adjacent to the Merrill Business Park and will ultimately feature a new terminal building, aircraft parking aprons , an aircraft fueling system, and private and multi-use aircraft storage hangars.  

In the Spring of 2010, Becher Hoppe developed a design for the improvements, and the project was bid in June.  

The first phase of construction is scheduled to be completed by Fall of 2010. Subsequent phases are planned for construction as funding becomes available.
